FRENCH ALPS & PROVENCE • JUN 22 – JUL 2, 2028
French Alps & Provence Tour 2028
From the giants of the Alps to the French Mediterranean. 10 days. Fly & Ride Premium.
There are beautiful roads. And there are roads that make you stop the bike just to understand where you are. French Alps & Provence was born from exactly that idea: crossing some of Europe’s most impressive scenery, combining the great alpine passes, monumental canyons, medieval villages and the lavender fields that define the south of France.
Ten days at the heart of world motorcycle touring. Col de l’Iseran, Galibier, Izoard, Route Napoléon, Mont Ventoux, Verdon, Ardèche, Vercors. Names you’ve read in magazines and dreamed of riding — here, you actually ride them, with the UpSerra team up front and the support vehicle behind.
Fly & Ride Premium format: you fly into Lyon, the BMW is waiting for you, and the next ten days are nothing but riding, scenery and French gastronomy. Small group. Each alpine pass is a conquest. Each canyon looks like a film.
THE ROUTE
Lyon → Alps → Verdon → Provence → Ardèche → Lyon
DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
10 days. The most legendary names in European motorcycle touring.
Welcome from the UpSerra team, technical briefing, motorcycle adjustment. First glimpse of the French Alps through the hotel window. Special opening dinner in France’s gastronomic capital.
First contact with the French Pre-Alps. We leave Lyon for the technical roads of the Chartreuse Massif — dense forests, limestone gorges and flowing curves down to the turquoise-blue lake of Annecy.
The day of the alpine giants. We climb some of Europe’s most iconic passes: Col des Aravis, Cormet de Roselend and the legendary Col de l’Iseran — the highest paved alpine pass in the world, at 2,770 m.
We enter the heart of world motorcycle touring. Col du Galibier, Col d’Izoard, Briançon and the surreal Casse Déserte — a lunar landscape at the heart of the Southern Alps. One of the most epic days of the entire expedition.
A complete change of scenery. We descend the legendary Route Napoléon (N85) to the Verdon canyons — the largest canyon in Europe. Curves suspended over giant rock walls and turquoise waters.
Time to explore the medieval village, relax on the shores of Lake Sainte-Croix or sail into the Verdon. Optional UpSerra ride: Plateau de Valensole and its lavender fields blooming in June.
Provence’s great contrast. We leave the lavender fields for the legendary Mont Ventoux — one of Europe’s most iconic mountains. The feeling at the summit is simply absurd.
Geology completely dominates the experience. We ride the famous Ardèche corniche — a sequence of curves over white limestone cliffs. One of the most cinematic days of the trip.
The day of impossible roads. We enter the Vercors massif — one of France’s most impressive regions. Tunnels carved into the rock, roads suspended on cliffs. Contemplative riding in a surreal setting.
Last day of the expedition. We descend gently from the Alps toward Lyon, closing with a gastronomic and cultural touch. Bike return and official closing dinner.
Free day for return flights. The UpSerra team arranges the airport transfer according to each participant’s schedule.
