- Valid Category A motorcycle license + International Driving Permit — apply 1–2 months in advance
- Valid passport, expiring after December/2028
- International travel insurance with coverage for Italy (mandatory)
- Minimum experience: comfortable riding a large motorcycle. Intermediate level — comfortable, enjoyable pace, no extreme technical skill required
- European summer gear: jacket with protection, riding pants, boots, gloves. July in Tuscany is hot (28–35°C), but mornings in the Apennines can be cool
- Vaccinations: none mandatory for Italy
