Transylvania, Danube & Dolomites Tour 2028

Grossglockner, Transfagarasan, the Dolomites and Passo Rombo in 12 days. 7 countries. Fly & Ride Premium.

There are routes that cross countries. And there are routes that cross the soul of Europe. Mountain & Village was created for those who want to leave the capitals, the motorways and mass tourism behind — and go deep into territories most travelers will never know.

Twelve days connecting high-altitude technical riding, medieval Romanian villages, the Danube on the border between Serbia and Romania, the Slovenian Alps and the final spectacle of the Dolomites. A crossing that begins in the Austrian Alps and ends in Europe’s most dramatic mountains.

Fly & Ride Premium format: you fly into Munich, the BMW is waiting for you, and the next twelve days are all riding, mountains and real Europe. Because here, it’s not about visiting Europe — it’s about feeling it on two wheels.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Common questions

What is the Transfagarasan and why is it so special?
The Transfagarasan is a mountain road in Romania that crosses the Transylvanian Alps, reaching 2,042 m of altitude. Voted by Top Gear “the best road in the world.” Built between 1970–1974, it has tight hairpins, tunnels, waterfalls and Lake Bâlea at the top. On Day 5 of the itinerary, we ride it light — without luggage — to make the most of it.
Is the tour for beginners, or do I need experience?
Intermediate to advanced level. The route includes alpine passes above 2,000 m (Grossglockner, Transalpina, Passo Rombo), technical roads in Slovenia and the Dolomites. Riders who have already toured a big motorcycle internationally and feel comfortable in technical curves adapt well. This is not a tour for first-timers.
Does Fly & Ride mean I fly with my own motorcycle?
No. Fly & Ride means you fly into Munich and the premium BMW is already waiting for you there. UpSerra handles all the fleet logistics. You just need to bring your flight luggage and riding gear.
What’s the weather like in September in Romania and the Dolomites?
September is European autumn — pleasant days (18–25°C in the lowlands) but cold mornings on the alpine passes (5–10°C above 2,000 m). 3-season gear is ideal: jacket with a removable thermal liner, riding pants, cold-weather gloves and a balaclava. The initial briefing covers the full list.
Seven countries in 12 days — how does passport control work?
Most countries on the route are Schengen (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy). Romania joined the Schengen Area in 2025. Croatia and Serbia have borders with quick checks. For Brazilians: a valid Schengen tourist visa covers most of the route. The UpSerra team guides you through the complete documentation.
Which motorcycle will I be riding?
Premium BMW — R 1300 GS or equivalent, depending on availability in the local partner’s fleet in Munich. Bikes are 100% serviced, equipped with side bags and top case. Full fitting and operation guide at the Day 1 briefing.
