USHUAIA FLY&RIDE • OCT 18–27, 2026
Ushuaia Fly&Ride 2026 — To the End of the World
Fly into El Calafate, ride a UpSerra BMW R1300GS to Ushuaia and back via Torres del Paine and El Chaltén.
2,600 km · 10 days · Moderate level.
Ushuaia — fin del mundo. The southernmost city on Earth, 670 km / 416 mi from the Antarctic Peninsula. Fly into El Calafate in southern Argentina, where a UpSerra-prepared BMW R1300GS is waiting. Ten days riding deep Patagonia: the Perito Moreno Glacier calving into Lago Argentino, Torres del Paine granite spires across the Chilean border, the Strait of Magellan ferry, Tierra del Fuego, and Ushuaia itself.
Then the return — north along the legendary Ruta 40 Patagonia stretch, with a stop in El Chaltén at the foot of Fitz Roy (the impossible granite tower that inspired the Patagonia clothing logo). Two countries, multiple border crossings, the deep south of South America in 10 days.
2,600 km on a BMW R1300GS, full UpSerra logistics: hotels, support vehicle, bilingual tour leader, professional photo coverage. Documentation is simple — passport and motorcycle license. The bike is included.

FLY&RIDE FORMAT
End of the World, without the long crossing
It’s the Fly&Ride for riders who want Ushuaia but don’t have 22 days for the full tour from Brazil. You fly directly into El Calafate and the UpSerra-prepared BMW R1300GS is at the hotel. Ten days that begin where Patagonia gets spectacular — Perito Moreno Glacier on Day 2, Torres del Paine on Day 3, End of the World on Day 5.
The route crosses Argentina and Chile multiple times, with mandatory ferry across the Strait of Magellan to enter Tierra del Fuego. Closed loop starting and ending in El Calafate. Includes 2 nights in Ushuaia (with optional Beagle Channel and Bahía Lapataia) and 2 nights in El Chaltén at the foot of Fitz Roy. Moderate level with long stages balanced by free days.
No vehicle paperwork, no border permits to chase. The bike is UpSerra’s — you only need your passport and a valid Class A motorcycle license.

- UpSerra bilingual tour leader for all 10 days
- Mechanical support vehicle

Strait of Magellan ferries are essential — without them you can’t enter Tierra del Fuego. UpSerra books all of them in advance, included in the package. In Ushuaia, the Beagle Channel boat trip is optional but absolutely recommended — the only way to reach the lighthouses at the end of the world.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Fly&Ride different from a full tour?
You fly directly into El Calafate (FTE) instead of riding from Brazil. Saves a week of long Brazilian/Argentinian crossings. UpSerra has the BMW R1300GS waiting at the hotel.
Best flights to El Calafate?
El Calafate (FTE) connects via Buenos Aires (AEP). From the US: USA → Buenos Aires → El Calafate. Total ~14h flight time. Plan to arrive 1 day early to recover from jet lag.
How tough is the tour?
Moderate. The challenge is Patagonian wind (can hit 80+ km/h on the steppes) and long stages (up to 569 km / 354 mi). 99% paved. Two ferry crossings of the Strait of Magellan, multiple border crossings.
Do I need a visa for Argentina/Chile?
US/CA/UK/EU/AU/NZ citizens: visa-free for tourism in Argentina and Chile (up to 90 days).
Is my motorcycle license valid?
Yes — home country license accepted. International Driving Permit (IDP) recommended.
What’s the weather in October?
Patagonian spring. 0–12°C / 32–54°F. Strong wind. Snow possible at high passes. Rain frequent. Layered all-weather gear with rain shell mandatory.
How does the Magellan ferry work?
Two crossings (Day 4 to Tierra del Fuego, Day 7 back). Crossing time ~30–90 minutes. UpSerra books all bikes onto the ferry in advance. Cost included in package. Backup plan if weather closes the strait.
How do I pay? What’s the deposit?
10% deposit at booking. Balance via international wire transfer in USD or credit card.
